Jun 7 2012

The movement for raising New York’s minimum wage is strong and growing. The next two weeks are critical. Here are three ways you can help now:

► Spread the word about the June 13 Interfaith Service to Urge Gov. Cuomo to Raise Minimum Wage – More information below.

► Sign and/or Circulate the sign-on letters for faith leaders, business people, civil society organizations and the general public:

► Contact Your State Senator:  http://www.nysenate.gov/senators

The NY State Assembly has already passed legislation in May that would raise New York’s minimum wage from $7.25 to $8.50.

June 13, Interfaith Service to Urge Gov. Cuomo to Raise Minimum Wage

When: Wednesday, June 13
Time: 12:00 PM
Location: “Million Dollar Staircase” at the New York State Capitol Building, Albany

Please join faith leaders and community members for an interfaith service aimed to move the hearts and minds of state leaders to do the right thing for nearly a million New York workers and their families. Afterward we will deliver the faith letter to Gov. Cuomo urging him to do everything in his power to raise the minimum wage from $7.25 to at least $8.50 per hour and index it annually to the rising cost of living.

Eight out of ten New York voters support raising the minimum wage!
